The Build North Housing Cohort is a collaboration of several local organizations supporting the housing sector. We work in housing, community, and economic development areas, focusing on how to help inform our civic and community leaders on housing challenges and opportunities, incentive programs, industry trends, and more. Our group includes the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Itasca County (HRA), KOOTASCA Community Action, Grand Rapids Economic Development Authority, Habitat for Humanity, Itasca Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Community Economic Development Association (CEDA), APEX, and local realtors.
The Build North Housing Summit on May 4, 2023 is a one-day, multi-session event providing education and insights around all types of housing development. We are bringing experts, professionals, and business leaders from around the region and state to our community to come together and share strategies and opportunities for meeting housing challenges in our community in today’s market. Sessions will include housing planning, tools for local municipalities, employer assisted housing partnerships, community land trusts, navigating the state resources, and more. Carson Gorecki, an analyst from the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) will provide information on area housing characteristics and trends along with information from
recent housing studies. Elizabeth Glidden, Deputy Executive Director
for the MN Housing Partnership, will provide up to date information on state resources for housing. Finally, partners from Greater MN Housing Fund will speak on the ways they support rural housing.
We are grateful for the support and want to offer you sponsorship opportunities in this event. There are three opportunities for sponsorship, as well as opportunities for an exhibit hall booth.
